#TB: Michiko & Hatchin
Michiko to Hatchin is an exciting show that follows the criminal Michiko Malandro and her escapades with Hannah Morenos, her former lover’s daughter, whom she nicknames “Hatchin.” Upon escaping her abusive foster home, the unlikely duo sets out to not only find Hatchin’s father, but their futures. The beautiful dark-toned Michiko Malandro embarks on the journey with the ever-cautious Hatchin around Diamandra. The assortment of gritty unique character adds to the depth of the show tenfold. With real life circumstances intertwined with dramatic ones the storyline is an interesting ride to follow. The display of diversity is unmatched. People of all tones, nationalities, and languages are introduced at a rate that the average anime has yet to reach. Cultural representation is a luxury many don’t have in the anime community so for the show to be so diverse and culturally evolved, and for it to be as good as it is, is a luxury. Studio producer Manglobe did an amazing job putting this show together from its depiction of the primary character dynamics to the clean and saturated animation and direction. If ever looking for an adventure with complex characters that may look like you or me, Michiko to Hatchin is a great choice!
